SMEC 2005
April 17-21, 2005

 

CeSMEC will host the third meeting of the Study of Matter at Extreme Conditions (SMEC) 17-21 April of 2005. The focus of the 4-day meeting will be to promote interdisciplinary research in the fields of geophysics, solid state physics, high pressure physics and chemistry and materials science.

Sponsored by Florida International University's College of Engineering and the Center of the Study of Matter at Extreme Conditions (CeSMEC), Compres (Consortium for Materials Properties Research in Earth Sciences) and HPCAT (High Pressure Collaborative Access Team), and the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, the meeting will bring together scholars from all over the world at the beautiful Deauville Beach Resort located in sunny Miami Beach. The proceedings are expected to be published in the Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids.

 

Publication

The Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids will publish the SMEC2005 volume. Please submit your manuscript by email to Hexiong Yang at yang@fiu.edu before June 1, 2005.

Registration

Registration fee includes the reception, breakfast, lunch, dinner banquet and dinner cruise and Abstract volume.

Students and companions will be charged a registration fee of $262.
